I remember watching this movie as a child and yet my kids today, still love watching it.
The movie focuses on Littlefoot, who is an Apotosaurus dino, along with his group of other dinosaur friends. The group of young dinos get separated from the rest of the herd and must make their own way to Great Valley.
It is a cute animated show, but it does not have the most accurate information about dinosaurs if you are looking for an educational insight for your toddlers.
It does have a great message about the bond of friendship and also has some really cute scenes with the young dinosaurs and the different personalities they have.
Also, be aware that although the movie is not bloody and gory, there are some situations that show the dino parents being injured and dying. The scenes are done in a way that would still make it watchable for a toddler and young child though.
If you are interested there are a few other Land Before Time movies as well as even a TV show that you can watch if your child likes the original movie.

This particular movie focuses mainly around Sid, who is the silly Sloth in the series. He gets kidnapped by an angry dino mom after he is caught trying to steal her eggs from her nest. Sid’s friends must come to his rescue to save him.
The computer animation is great in this movie and it’s such a cute flick that will have your kids laughing along with you. It is rated PG, so you may want to watch it along with your child.

This is really a great pick for toddlers and younger kids because there is no real violence and even the “bad guys” aren’t even that bad when compared to some other kid’s shows.
I would definitely recommend this movie for young toddlers who may not be ready yet for any violence or dealing with injuries and death. This could be a great dino starter movie for your child.
Although parents may not be interested in this dinosaur movie for kids, younger toddlers and preschoolers will really enjoy it. Bob the Builder is a great kid’s character and when you add in some dino bones you get a fun, entertaining show for toddlers.
I would recommend this for ages 2 to around 5 years old as older kids may become bored and may not be into Bob the Builder anymore.
It is a full length feature that runs approximately 60 minutes. It can be a great way to introduce your toddler to dinosaurs and know that there is nothing “scary” about this movie.
This is another oldy yet goody when it comes to kid’s dinosaur movies. This movie originally was released back in 1993 and recently was released on DVD for both young and old fans.
The movie follows 4 prehistoric friends that travel to modern day time New York City to meet children who dream about meeting real life dinosaurs. It’s fun and quirky and although it may not be super educational, kids will love the laughing along as everything of course doesn’t go to plan with these dinosaur friends.
Parents will even recognize some pretty big voices including John Goodman, Rhea Pearlman, Jay Leno, and Martin Short while they enjoy the fun movie with their kids.
